Heh. I just noticed this, and... Lol. It looks NOTHING like Gamefreak's Noibat. I don't see why other commenters are saying it looks exactly alike.
And on the name... Well, it's not likely they even knew of this fakemon and was like "oh, nice name. Let's use that." It's kind of like the way when the game gets ported to english they just kinda combine two words to make the name. Noise and Bat was bound to be a combination. XD
You've got some nice Fakemon, though. Really cool!
To everyone who says shit like "OMG CHANGE THE NAME THERE'S A REAL NOIBAT NOW!!1!" or "OMG GAMEFREAK MADE A POKEMON LIKE THIS AND YOURS LOOKS JUST LIKE IT LOL", do yourself a favor. Look at the date when it was submitted: October 2, 2011. Two years before Pokemon X/Y was released. So bugger off.
On another note, this thing is really cute. I'd definitely add it to my party.
Guys! Have you ever stop to think that maybe he's not happy that GameFreak/Nintendo created a Pokemon with the same name? Sure, he can't do anything about it, but this is exactly why at least I wouldn't be happy. Because now all he's getting are a bunch of comments about the actual Noibat and he's not getting any credit anymore for his lovely creation here. It's very sad actually. Noibat is a combination word between "noise" and "bat". It's a very obvious name and completely coincidental that GameFreak/Nintendo used it.
ANYWAY, I really like your Noibat dude. I love his cute little body, and the eyes especially. It's very unique and I don't see it used on a lot of Pokemon designs. It's simplicity is definitely something to admire! ^w^ Amazing job! Love all your Pokemon designs!
Or maybe he's happy that he practically invented an official Pokemon and, though he won't get some insignificant mention in the credits of the game or a minimal payment for proposing a concept, people will know this Pokemon for as long as Pokemon exists, and whenever they search it on dA, this will show up? He has replied to some of the comments, and he wasn't angry; he seemed kinda happy that his Fakemon became real. For all we know, he could be ecstatic. Game Freak's Noibat looks very similar, so I can see why he might also be a little dismayed, and an idiot might think he stole it, but anyone who isn't dumb will notice this was posted two years before the game came out, and be amazed that he came up with a concept that even the makers of Pokemon themselves thought was good.
GameFreak took my idea for a fire-type lion named Pyroar, this is no lie. I made up the name months before GameFreak made Litleo, but I digress about GameFreak using names made by fans. Anyway, this is a really cool Fakemon.
It's not like GameFreak was using them on purpose. Just because they used a name that a fan came up with aswell, doesn't mean they took it.
Pyroar. Pyro and Roar. Simple name. Anyone could have thought of it. Noibat. Noise and Bat. Again, simple name.
It's not like it was an extremely outrageous name for a random animal, then gamefreak comes around taking it. No. Now I'm not insulting everyone here but you can't just accuse GameFreak of taking ideas.
I've seen your comments on things, and you're such a downer. You only talk about how bad things are, and you just seem to dislike or be mad about everything. Made he is upset that they took the name, OR maybe he has a nice and justified, maybe just a bit cocky feeling because it's almost like his Pokemon got into the game, since Game Freak's Noibat even looks similar. And no one can say he stole because it was posted two years before the game came out.
They can say he stole it, as Shellos, Gastrodon, and Lucario were in RS in 2003 i think it was but became public in DP in 2007, but about me and everything being bad... That's pretty much all I ever see from people. That's pretty much what has happened either ripping of GF because they made a pokemon based off of the same animal and typing or because some popular fakemon artist made a similar pokemon. I used to have an account filled with fakemon and, one of them, happened to be a bullfrog pun. Then people acused me of stealing the ides from LuisBrain's Frogross, then I did a honey badger that looked like a bear I guess and I somehow stole the idea from Daybreak-Machine's Grizzbee. Basically, the way people see it is, unless yours is the more known one, you're nothing but a dirty thief that should go die.
Well, those people are wrong, and if you explain to them what the truth is, they should have the mental capacity to understand when two things were posted and that you didn't steal. Is it so hard to alter the descriptions of the ones you supposedly stole but didn't actually steal and write "Mine came first" and then present the dates (if yours came first) or "I didn't steal/intend to steal from ___" (if yours came after)? It shouldn't be. If people are calling you a thief for something you didn't steal, ignore them! They're just idiots who overreact and think that they can be "the hero who stops the art thief".
